Delightful Decor

I'm finally getting the last of Landon's 1st birthday party posted!

Now its all about the baby Mickey Mouse decorations and activities.

First lets start with the Mickey Mouse party hats! I just got normal party hats and got black foam and then hot glued them on. There was one for every guest it was pretty funny to see the grandparents wearing them.

*Tip* To get rid of hot glue strings just use a blow dryer.
Not only were there party hats for every guest I made a craft table so everyone could decorate their own party hat. It was a huge hit among the kids and even a few of the adults had fun with it.
One of my friends finished products.
Now lets talk centerpieces.
I started with a square box and then I printed out baby Mickey Mouse designs from the web and I cut a bigger Mickey Mouse on this side to make it stand out a little bit more.

Then on this side it was just the size of the box and used ribbon to kind of clean up the edges.
(I think I should have used something else but I didn't feel like going back to the store again.)
Then as a finishing touch I just added some baby Mickey Mouse balloons and some tissue paper. Nothing extravagant it was pretty cheap and simple. I'm also thinking of taking the paper off and using the boxes in the future so I don't just throw them away.

Lastly I have the favor bags. I made Minnie Mouse colors for the girl bags and Mickey Mouse color for the boy bags and filled them with squirt guns because it was really hot and some bubbles and other fun crafts as well as some animal crackers.
Hope you enjoyed my party decorations!

Tasty Treats

Sorry it's been awhile since my last post things got pretty hectic as my sons party drew near and then after the chaos still trying to get my house back to normal! Parties are really fun to plan and put every thing together but the cleaning up process... not so much. Any who I'm going to go ahead and show you some of the tasty treat I made with the help of my wonderful friends!

This was one of the first things we made and we crushed up Oreo's for the topping on top of some whipped topping then stuck mini Oreo's on tooth picks and used them as the ears. I forgot to take a picture of just one but you can kind of get the idea. They were super yummy! I used these instead of a big sheet cake.

I was originally going to make little Mickey Mouse head cheesecake pops and they were not cooperating so this is what I ended up with. Strawberry cheesecake pops dipped in blue chocolate and even though they didn't turn out how I wanted they still tasted really good!

These were the biggest hit of the entire party! They were extremely sweet though so I should have made them smaller because they were huge. All we did was make a batch of rice crispies and dipped the top in blue chocolate! Super easy!

While all of my other friends and I were decorating the sweets my amazing friend Lauren created this little master piece! A Mickey Mouse watermelon bowl!

My son's smash cake! None of us are that great at writing on cakes and it also started melting but he didn't care!

This was the table with all of the lunch stuff as well as some other munchies.
(My house is currently under construction so don't mind the mess behind the table... lol)

Our make your own sandwich 3 tier display.

I will post all of the decorations and party activities in my next blog post!

Little Party Planning Help

I was needing a little help getting organized for my son's birthday party, after doing a little bit of research trying to find a cute printable for a birthday party checklist I decided to make my own. It goes with the theme of his birthday party.

I save everything so now instead of throwing it away right after I have something cute and sentimental to remind me of how much time I put into his birthday party. I've attached the link if you'd like to download it! I will also make a generic one pretty soon for regular parties once I start my family binder.

 Mickey Mouse Birthday Party Checklist

Enjoy!

1st Birthday Party Planning

Well I have been a busy bee working and planning my son's 1st birthday party! I am trying to find everything baby Mickey Mouse or Mickey themed and so far I am finding a lot of stuff.

I loved the baby Mickey Mouse invitations that I could have easily bought but I always like to customize my invitations because I think they feel more personal that way. It also helps I have great friends who are always willing to help me. This is what the finished product looks like!

I used my amazing Cricut for this whole invitation. I learned so many different techniques from making these invitations. I had never actually read the little books that come in the box with the cartridge but I am so happy I finally did and I highly recommend taking the time to do so.

For the card I used I used
Cricut® Cuttin' Up Cartridge

For the "Happy 1st Birthday" and "Landon" on the front of the card I used
Cricut® Baby Steps Cartridge

and for the "1" I used
Cricut® Base Camp Cartridge

For the Mickey Mouse head on the back I used
Disney© Mickey and Friends Cricut® Cartridge

As for everything else I cut by hand including those adorable baby Mickey's. If you have any questions feel free to ask! Hope you enjoyed my post!

I'm sure I'll figure it out as I go.

Currently I'm planning my son's 1st birthday party so if you are interested in party planning my next few blogs will most likely be about that!
